We've been talking about the responsibilities of the Bride of Christ (the church). These are the final points:
5. Be submissive and obedient to her husband. The church should submit to Christ's authority in all things.
“Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.” (Ephesians 5:22-24)
“However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.” (Ephesians 5:33)
6. Speak highly of and to her husband(respect and honor). The church does this through song, praise, prayer, and evangelism/teaching others/confession.
"Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 10:32)
"Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee. And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel." (Mark 5:19-20)
"Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen." (Ephesians 3:21)
"That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him." (John 5:23)
We can see that the church has some pretty serious responsibilities in order to maintain her position. Let us all "be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life." (Revelation 2:10b)
