and example that I should. It is easy to let my wife get up and fix breakfast
and get the kids up and sleep until the last minute. After that I get up, get
dressed, and run out the door. I can try to justify and excuse myself by saying
that since she is a work at home mom that is her job, but that excuse never
holds water. The fact is it is my job too. She may be there all day while I am
out at the office or whatever else my schedule holds, but I have the same
responsibilities as a parent that she has when I am home.
It is far too easy to be an absent father even when you are physically home.
It is hard to lead, but it is necessary. We will all fail more often than we
should, but we must determine that we are going to do better today than we did
yesterday and better tomorrow than we did today.
Don’t give up! Don’t abdicate your role in the home.
