whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. (8) For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. (9) And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." Parenting is not for the lazy. It is a 24/7/365 job. We will reap what we sow and taking the easy way out when they are little will cause big problems when they are older. On the other hand wisely investing at the beginning will make things easier later.
Of course discipline is not pleasant for the one being disciplined, but the results are worth the pain. Again the scripture speaks to this: Hebrews 12:11-13 "Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. (12) Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; (13) And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed." Notice that punishment without healing and lifting up causes a departure from the way.
Many times in our family when there is a disobedience problem it is because of a lack of consistent proper training by both mom and dad.
